Instead of receiving medication without additional obstacles, providers sometimes had to submit documentation and work through additional approval steps.
This created more administrative work for healthcare providers and could delay medication for injured workers.
For a patient already dealing with an injury, lost wages, and the workers’ compensation process, waiting for necessary medication can add another layer of stress.
